Getting to 19 Rue de la Prefecture from the airport (VERY EASY):

From Terminal 2:

Out of the main doors when you arrive, towards the right hand side and across the road, you will see some numbered bus stops. You need bus stop 5 – bus number 98 for the Gare Routier (bus station). You can either purchase tickets from the ticket shop (to the right before you cross over the road) or you can just pay on the bus. The cost is 4 euros – the driver will give you the ticket and you must “validate” them by placing them in the machine just inside the bus. If you feel unsure of the directions, ask if the driver will tell you when you get to Albert premier (Albert 1st gardens) stop. He usually shouts this out.

The bus will go to Terminal 1 then along the coast road. You will see as you go along that the stops all have names – you can get the bus back to the airport from any stop which shows the number 98. The bus will go all along the Promenade des Anglais (sea front) until it gets to a large hotel (on the left hand side) called Le Meridian – it also has a large casino called Casino Rhul. At the traffic lights here, the bus will, for the first time, turn left – at this point, ring the bell to get off (it is likely that someone else will have, as this is a popular stop). As you turn the corner, you will see the Albert 1st gardens and a large carousel on your left.

As you get off at the stop, the first road immediately on your right is Rue Saint-Francois de Paule – turn right here. Keep walking down, past the Opera House on your right and you will see in front of you that the road stops and becomes the Cours Saleya (flower market – where all the restaurants are). Rather than going straight on through the pedestrian zone, turn left here, past a small convenience store on your right and you will walk directly into the Place du Palais de Justice – where the law courts are on your right. Keeping the court building on your right, cross the square and the road you meet is Rue de la Prefecture. Turn right, down the side of the court building and look out for a restaurant on the left called Le Tire Bouchon – the door to the apartment is just after this and a pet shop.

Alternatively you can get a taxi – this will cost you around 25-30 euros, depending on the amount of luggage you have.

From Terminal 1

come out of the main doors - the ticket office is immediately to your left and the bus stop is immediately in front of you – no 98 – follow instructions as above.
